All the rest of the team were busy today, one was on a walk with his class, one was busy with his family, one was shopping with his wife and one was landing aircraft at the airport (proberly the bast place to land aircraft).

So it is Tony and I, we have a look around Pulis but very little there a couple of Shelduck. We take Tony's car and on to the rifle range for a look around, same story a couple of Stonechats but not much else.

We decide to go for the smaller birds on a nature walk near my childrens school. Good choice lots of small birds jumping from brunch to brunch Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Long Tailed Tit ( my Favourite), Good fun but i have to go get my children from the mother in laws.

My children are outplaying when i get to the mother in laws so she said why don't you go out for an hour just when you thought the birding was over there is more. Clair mare is a loverly littel pond with a nice size reed bed on the west coast. Sorry that i have some more Teal photos to show you but i do think they are better then yesterdays.

Pochard, Mallards, Marsh Harrier are the highlights.

I am taking part in a survey in the morning and hopfully some of my friends will come to. news to follow.

We are very lucky in Guernsey because we have a lot of different habitats which you can visit all in the same day making it quite easy to see 50 different birds in a morning.
Some of the best places in Guernsey are the Clarie Mare reserve which is has a good size pond with a nice size reed bed. The colin Best reserve which is a marshy headland area with a nice little bramble lined walk.
Vale pond which is a larger pond with marsh bed, Silbe nature reserve which is a lovery little wooded walk. the cliffs and headland at pleinmont point which are great all year round and are allways the first point of call for a lots of migrants. Lots of are beaches are also very good.
Guernsey is just a great place to live and to do birding.
