I got up at 5am to do the housework as many brownie points as possible, children dropped at school at the wife at work time to find some birds.

Fort Homment to see if the Purple Sandpipers are still there and they are. this is going to be a good day and the sun is out maybe i could get a couple of good photos as well. Black Redstart and great Creasted Grebe are the highlights.

Moving on to Perelle and a slavonian Grebe, my list for the day is aready at 25 next clair mare hide and the Teal, Great Tit, Blue Tit and what is that circling three Buzzards. This is great.

Collin best resreve and a chance to see a wren, Dunnock, Marsh Harriers and some Chaffinch on the walk there. Curlew.

I must go home and do some lunch for the wife if i am ever going to be allowed out again. The wife feed and i run for the door, to the car and on to Vale Pond.

Brent Goose, Red-breasted Merganser, Kestrel and here comes the Kingfisher and thats 40 for the day. I must get the children from school.

Changed, ok in the car then Courtney of to drama and the wife dropped at the doctors. Ryan dressed in his wellies and conviced the nature walk at Silbe is better then sitting in the doctors we start a new chapter in the story of this great day.

Long tailed Tits and then some loud calling get the camera off the tripod and look at the sky, yes a buzzard flying low just above us click click clickand a loverly Gold Crest and that is 47, not bad at all.

We are very lucky in Guernsey because we have a lot of different habitats which you can visit all in the same day making it quite easy to see 50 different birds in a morning.
Some of the best places in Guernsey are the Clarie Mare reserve which is has a good size pond with a nice size reed bed. The colin Best reserve which is a marshy headland area with a nice little bramble lined walk.
Vale pond which is a larger pond with marsh bed, Silbe nature reserve which is a lovery little wooded walk. the cliffs and headland at pleinmont point which are great all year round and are allways the first point of call for a lots of migrants. Lots of are beaches are also very good.
Guernsey is just a great place to live and to do birding.
